Tention Free: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, your passion etc. ??
I am an artist and creator. I started Vertlife Entertainment in 2011 while we focused on mostly music production. We released multiple music albums and videos over the course of about 5 years. I pivoted to film and started a Youtube series called The Somethin’ Or Other Tour [SOOT.TV]. It’s a show where we explore all sorts of places, with no niche necessarily. Anything we think may be interesting from historical landmarks and ghost towns to sports arenas.
Tention Free: We been hearing a lot about you, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
Feels great to connect with people. I’ve been approached multiple times at sports games I attend and people ask to take pictures with me. I’m such a small creator but it’s great that a few people here and there appreciate what I do. I always ask if they want a cameo just to show some love back.
Tention Free: Any upcoming project?
I have a bunch of full length documentaries planned outside of The Somethin’ Or Other Tour [SOOT.TV] and a new podcast I’m developing. There is also The Humble Finessors Podcast which is on a short hiatus right now. My whole goal is to stay active and keep putting out quality content.
I’ve been approached by a few organizations about The Somethin’ Or Other Tour [SOOT.TV] so hopefully you’ll see some cool stuff in upcoming episodes.
Tention Free: Can you please let us know more about your music production & film production work?
I executive produced multiple albums for Vertlife Entertainment and even released my own albums Pacific Coast Pharaoh and The Good Villain EP. Overall I did close to 30 music videos. Not as active with music, but I still love it and it helped get me to where I am now.
Now I just produce The Somethin’ Or Other Tour [SOOT.TV] for Vertlife Entertainment. Usually weekly episodes exploring all sorts of cool places. It’s a silly, lighthearted show so I would love to finally release a full length documentary on subject matter a little more substantial.
Tention Free: What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far ?
Being recognized is definitely top. Getting offered tickets to games is also cool. Oh and making the news when we explored the abandoned San Diego Chargers headquarters was really cool.
Tention Free: What’s your goal in life you want to achieve next?
Just contribute something of value and leave a positive impact even in small ways.
Tention Free: What motivates you to do your best work as founder of Vertlife Entertainment?
There is so much content out there, and while quantity seems to be beating out quality in this day and age, I want to provide value with what I do. It’s important to me and I always lead with integrity.
Tention Free: Did you choose this industry, as a career, or as a hobby?
Initially a hobby. I used to make fun videos with my camcorder at Disneyland and things like that. It was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to do something more serious someday.
Tention Free: Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?
My subscribers know I love going to live sports games. I love video games and movies. Of course I love exploring which is why I do the show.
Tention Free: How can people find you and follow you online?
You can follow the show at http://soot.tv and follow me on Instagram @dylansesco
