Facebook’s WhatsApp near 1 Billion, Hits 900 million active monthly users
Facebook’s WhatsApp is near 1 Billion users milestone, Whatsapp now has 900 million active users per month, the obviously most popular messenger which operates on almost every mobile platform records a jaw-breaking record of active users. The internet chat app that its being use around the globe to send free texts was founded 2009 with basic text messaging features, which now has lot more than just sending of text messages with lot of features being added, from sending pictures, video to the voice calling features like seen in viber & skype.
Whatsapp has features many updates of recent, in June a features that allows users to mark message as send was introduced, also in August Whatsapp made an updates that allows user to send messages from their computer. Has time goes by, Whatsapp takes the lane of fast growing with millions of users joining the social networking app. After Facebook, WhatsApp became the only second non-Google app to have been installed over billion times(1-5 billions times) on Android phones as announced in March. It was announced in early this year that the messaging app had 700 million users, the app has seen rapid growth of millions people join in five months, according to CEO of Whatsapp, Jan Koum in a Facebook post
“WhatsApp now has 900 million monthly active users,”
Also Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a follow up posts
“Congrats to Jan, the WhatsApp team and whole community on reaching 900 million people!”
Since Whatsapp was acquired by Facebook last year for $19 billion, the social network had records a growth rate of 50 percent in the past 12 months.
