Tention Free : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??
I grew up in Newark, New Jersey majority of my life being in the southward one of the roughest parts in the city. Currently in college studying popular music and film studies as a major.
Tention Free : We been hearing a lot about you, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
A bit scary it’s been a long road to get here and still so much to go. Still this is exciting to see people are listening to my story that’s been my objective for the longest.
Tention Free : Please tell us more about your upcoming project ?
My latest ep is called Babyl8n and I kinda see it like a movie of sorts.
The name is based off of a city that’s embedded in conflict on multiple levels. Specifically on the spiritual level that I hope it hits home with respect to how people can relate to it.
Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work as a musician?
It’s my city and friends my city because I’ve seen so many without a voice to tell their stories and their perspective so I think I’m obligated to tell their stories. My friends solely because their belief in what they do as well as supporting me.
Tention Free : Who are your musical inspirations?
David Bowie is my biggest inspiration his ability to change his style every album and kill it is crazy. Also Q -Tip is amazing cause his patterns ,flow, and sense of self is unmatched that I’m inspired by.
Tention Free : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional musician ?
Be prepared for the stones thrown at you on your journey to greatness it’s the most trying time but molds you for the better.
Tention Free : What are your future plans ? Your vision for the coming years.
Building this music label more and making a book of poetry also there might be my best musical work on the way soon too.
Tention Free : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?
Nice, France I took a trip there for my birthday through my school for being in the french program. It was beautiful there it felt safer more secure than where I’m from and there are wonderful people there.
Tention Free : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?
Reading different books also watching movies and of course listening to music.
