Check out the interview :
Tention Free : Let’s talk a bit about your work and what is the secret behind your success as a Singer/Songwriter?
Nic Nassuet :
I use the process that I learned at the Army’s spy school for recruiting HUMINT assets (AKA spies). Spot, assess, recruit.
1) Spot for people with placement and access to the people situations, and information that you need. This means that you need to spend time where they do – in the same bars, academies, award shows, parties, etc.
2) Assess their motivators and willingness to work with you. Some people want money, others have some things in their personal lives that they require help with, and some are just cool people who want to help out their friends.
3) Recruit them to your cause. By the time you have reached this phase you will have done a thorough enough assessment that you can be sure they will help you get what you need.
Tention Free : What’s your feelings when you nominated for Awards ?
Nic Nassuet :
Awards really have no meaning of their own. It all depends on who else was nominated, who is judging, etc. There are a lot of variables. It is always nice when someone likes your songs enough to recognize it publicly, but I think that it carries more weight when the judges are recognized in the industry and the competition is top notch. That’s when the nerves strike and you can’t help but feel a little competitive. Thankfully, all of the people I know who I have been up against are cool people and do amazing work, so I don’t mind losing to them when it happens.
Tention Free : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?
Nic Nassuet :
A Top Secret concert at Langley.
Tention Free : What’s your fav. Song?
Nic Nassuet :
I don’t really have a favorite song. I’m really partial to everything the old Misfits did and most of Danzig’s stuff, but right now I’ve got AFI’s “Now The World” and “A Deep Slow Panic” on repeat along with Eminem’s “No Love” and Lil Wayne’s “Drop The World” on repeat.
Tention Free : Who are your musical inspirations?
Nic Nassuet :
My mother would play guitar to us when we were little kids. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Other than that, I guess Trent Reznor, Davey Havok, Solely, and Bjork are probably pretty influential musicians to me.
Tention Free : What hidden talents do you have?
Nic Nassuet :
Remote viewing.
Tention Free : Where would you most like to perform?
Nic Nassuet :
Anywhere that my friends and family are gathered. Where there are good people, there is a good time to be had.
Tention Free : Do you set goals for yourself and how do you do that?
Nic Nassuet :
Not so much. I just sort of ask my psyche what I should do next, get an answer, then ask it why I should do it, and if the answer is appropriate (meaning, it isn’t because some other person or force is compelling me to do it, but the action is entirely inspired by my inner-psyche), the I try to accomplish the task.
Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work as an Multi Talented Artist?
Nic Nassuet :
Fear of failure. I often paint myself into corners so there is no way out except to accomplish the work.
Tention Free : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional musician as a career?
Nic Nassuet :
If you just want to be famous, then quit right now. You’ll fail and be miserable. If you want to be the best you that you can be, and try to be a better you every day, and a part of becoming that better you is making music, then carry on with the knowledge that you are doing what you should be. If you have that attitude, and temper it with good business skills, even the greatest obstacles will appear as challenges and become just one more part of the game.
Tention Free : How can people find you and follow you online?
Nic Nassuet :
I’m on Facebook at www.facebook.com/nassuet, my twitter and instagram handles are @NicNassuet, my website is www.nicnassuet.com, and my music is up on itunes, bandcamp, spotify, google play, etc.
