Tention Free : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, music passion etc. ??
Originally from Miami Hollywood Fl i moved to Palmbay Fl. spent most of my years there. ‘I’m smart as shit to, so its not like school wasn’t for me or anything like that. i did really good in school, As n Bs graduated high school with about a year an half of college done, next 6 months i had my AA degree an a degree in business. Currently enrolled in the University of West Florida in Pensacola Fl. been here for about 3 years now (since 2015) an and being here really gave me an opportunity to take my craft to the next level.
Music is my way of being herd. I always felt as if, not many people wanted to listen to what I have to say. but as soon as I put a nice sound behind it people would listen, its only now that they repeat it. I love it I really cant get enough of it, the feeling you get when someone understands your lyrics is dope.
Tention Free : We been hearing a lot about you, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
It feels great! there’s like so many people that come up to me an will dap me up, an tell me there life stories like me an them go way back, shits crazy as hell! girls! I use to be in class an I was the kid that sat in the back by himself, now if I sit in the back there’s at least 3 to 4 girls I’ve never seen before talking to me like there my ex the support, even the negative feed back that I get, these kids didn’t even want me to rap to them in class… now they all got something to say about me! “king Yung this King yung That…” its great, its a key to know people are listening.
Tention Free : Please tell us more about your song “Bro Code” ?
BRO CODE, the sublimate wing man song! lol. Bro Code was the start, the first song I desided to turn it up a notch. I remember when we found the beat, me n Splif going through beats like any other day, an that club vibe came on. we just started freestyleing an out of know where splif says ” this is bro code Yeah, You should fuck my bro yeah” as soon as he said that, i cut the beat i told him, “Bro that’s the start of a hit.” splif is actually in the Bro Code Video, hes the guy that gets the girl at the end of the video an getting turnt with me! Anyways it continues “hit my mottorolla girl i got the soda i could sell you coca i herd that you been fending we can get you doped up we can get you doped up” I was living with my boy Thomas at the time at la vista before brocode and girls would come by and wanna get turnt, no body chills you feel me. so fuck it we getting turnt! the hole song after that, is about us getting turnt! “MOllY MOLLY AT THE PARTY…” “line of coke I’m getting narley, faded with these foreign baddies” “she get freaky off the X, then she wanna X n X” the hole time its just a turnt song! the deeper meaning of BroCode, is just for those guys that girls look past an fuck on there bros, the message to them is EMBRACE IT BRO, ITS BRO CODE
Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work?
Situations! like all my songs are based on a situation in life, Brocode… the hard college party/drugs an sex life Lonely… about an toxic relationship i was in going back… when I got out of that relationship an some how got into another one 500 bars… people just talking a lot of shit! like fuck.
Here we go again… whats going in in the toxic relationships like all my songs are based on a situation i faced or get stuck in. so the more things i go though the more hits hit the mic!
Tention Free : Who are your musical inspirations?
My dad! an he has no musical talent what so ever!!! my dad is one of the old jamaican cats, who always speaks in metaphors. like everything he says is one big riddle, and you really have to pay attention to every word to figure out what the hell hes saying. and i feel like that’s how it should be in rap. my word play is fun, its different, its nice an I owe it to my dad. use to hate his riddles growing up to, now i use them in most of my lyrics
Tention Free : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional musician ?
Its a lot, if you going into it and your pockets are filled with lint… its a lot, i was there and now I’m here so its not impossible, its just a lot. you will soon find out that everything has a price, that everyone has a number an some times you just cant reach them, or the risk is VERY risky so you don’t do it! i would tell someone to DO IT! just do it, n do it fast before you can change your mind, n when your in that tight position… figure it the hell out.
God doesn’t give us things we cant handle, so handle it. meanwhile your dream, your craft doesn’t suffer and when you blow up the way you want to, it will pay off! practice my our craft every single day! even if your listening to someone else, try to change there words, try different flows in your head. something, you gotta want it more then them an they want it bad. find a good producer! quality of sound is very important, I don’t care how lyrical you are
Tention Free : What are your future plans ? Your vision for the coming years.
