The sensual indie-pop starlet took some time to sit down and discuss her new single and burgeoning career. We had a great conversation with Kaiya, enjoy the interview here:
Tention Free : Are you excited about your new single? How does it feel just a few days before the release?
I’m so excited! It feels like when you are about to make a new big step in your life. Which, of course, it is! Or it’s also like when you feel just a couple of days before a New Year. Which it almost is as well 🙂
Tention Free : How was this song born? GIMME? Is there anything secret and special that you’d like to share with us about it?
I will not tell you, exactly because it’s a secret 🙂
It’s a story which is told in poetry. Different pictures, collecting piece by piece. Different angels of reality. Different dreams and possibilities. No one knowns what the futures is brining..
Gimme-secret.. What is the difference between secrets and unspoken words? Is it something that really happened, or maybe it’s just a thought? Every story can be told and understood differently. Even your own story you can hear differently every time.
Tention Free : How would you describe this song, its sound, style?
I’d say it’s some light electro-pop, with minimalistic but tasteful modern production. It’s sexy and playful on one hand, but also sort of serious on the other. It’s a song about something simple but so important. It’s moving, it’s teasing..
Tention Free : Was it hard to work on GIMME? What was the hardest thing in the process?
I have to admit, the first song felt sort of harder and more challenging to work on. Maybe I’m just getting there more and more, getting used to that. Let’s see how the next song is gonna be! 🙂
Tention Free : What is your favorite thing about GIMME?
New challenges, new findings. To see how far you can reach. The process itself. Because you do have a vision at the beginning, but you can see the results only at the very end.
Tention Free : Have your family and friends heard it already?
Not at all! Not even one person heard it yet. We’ve been keeping everyone waiting in the darkness:)
Tention Free : Any ideas about a music video?
Oh yes! I’m in between a few completely different ideas, but I’m putting it together. It’s gonna be awesome! You’ll see.
Tention Free : Are you going to perform live soon?
Definitely. I’m working on a live show right now. To be honest, I can’t wait!
Tention Free : How do you see yourself performing this new song on stage? Any vision? Describe it!

… I’m closing my eyes and now I can see the stage.. A mist of soft light.. I’m dancing slowly.. singing tenderly and playfully… And then, as I’m going into the chorus, the lights are starting to move faster and more intense, and my voice is getting fuller and more vibrant ..awww I just can’t wait!
