Tention Free : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??
Kennard Stephens :
My name is Kennard Stephens. I was born and raised in Albany, Ga where I currently reside. I attended Dougherty Comprehensive High School. The son of India and Randy Stephens. My father was killed when I was 2 yrs old. I took on the name Ray Ray and it just stook.I studied at South Georgia State, attaining a degree in Accounting. After, college and I jumped back into the fast life. I took pieces of my life , my friends life , and some fiction to create “The Crumb Snatcher’s.”
Tention Free : We been hearing a lot about you, and your book, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?
Kennard Stephens :
It’s a humbling feeling.
Tention Free : At what point did you decided to become an author ?
Kennard Stephens :
Really I was at low point in my life about 7 years ago after a failed relationship. I just needed a vent to express myself. What way is better than writing?
Tention Free : How would you describe ” The Crumb Snatcher’s : Charge It to the game ” to someone who has not read yet your this book ?
Kennard Stephens :
If you want to know what goes through impoverished inner city teenagers minds you should definitely read this book. This book can help parents better deal with their kids going to school and falling under influence of the popular kid, or kids. As far as young adults, I would tell them don’t try this at home lol.
Tention Free : When and where do you write ?
Kennard Stephens :
I mostly write while listening to music. I write wherever I am at the moment. Wherever I get a idea. I just use the notepad on my iPhone.
Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work as a author / writer ?
Kennard Stephens :
I wouldn’t say fans. But my supportive readers. I think when you’re selling something people respect the quality and time you put in your craft.
Tention Free : What’s your advice to an aspiring novelist / author?
Kennard Stephens :
My advice to anyone not just authors. Would be visualize, strategize and actualize.
Tention Free : Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?
Kennard Stephens :
Right now I’m helping a friend with his music career. “Hardknock Tra,” the mixtape will drop soon so look out for that. Other than that I enjoy the simple things in life. You know family and friends.
Tention Free : Are you an author that interacts a great deal with your readers?
Kennard Stephens :
I’d like to think I am.
Tention Free : How can people find your book online and get updates about it ?
Kennard Stephens :
The Crumb Snatcher’s: April’s Empire. Will hit the shelves this May.
You can definitely find it at Book a Million, Walmart, and Facebook.
