Marcela Del Sol is an Australian writer, born in Chile who is about to launch her first self-signed book after writing for others.
Her new book “Kaleidoscope” is a fictional story of crime, erotica, pain, resilience of a woman living with PTSD and DID; just like Marcela.
“Kaleidoscope” is beautifully written with courage, pain and determination to eradicate stigma and demonstrate that people living with mental disorders are equally capable of achieving success.
Marcela is also a proud mum and a social activist who uses art as a weapon of early intervention in Chile. She is a philanthropist and supports a number of art and humanitarian missions.
Kaleisdoscope will be available in late March/April 2016.

Check out the interview :
Tention Free : Let’s talk a bit about your work and what is the secret behind your success?
Marcela Del Sol : I have been a ghost writer and a social activist for a while. This is my first self-signed book and I wanted to combine both those passions and my experience co-existing with a mental disorder. Kaleidoscope is a work that seeks to portray how equal, in terms of intellectual capabilities, people experiencing mental conditions are.
I write with honesty and passion. I feel successful being able to use these tools.
Tention Free : What do you find most inspires you to write your self signed book ?
Marcela Del Sol : I have lately lived a rather reclusive life because of my condition and there was a point where I realised that disclosure and courage would contribute to eradicate stigma and to educate much more than hiding. Kaleidoscope was born as a way to simply tell the world “Yes, you can label me but you will not diminish me” I hope to be a voice to many that are in a similar situation to mine.
Tention Free : What are you working on now?
Marcela Del Sol : I am finishing a poetry book and looking at some literary projects that are coming my way. I am also eagerly waiting the launch of Kaleidoscope and have taken leave of absence from my life in Australia. I am deeply grateful for my kids’ support and understanding about my doing so.
I am currently in Chile, where I was born and I have immersed myself in social projects with kids at risk. I believe in early intervention, in touching the core of humanity rather than ditching resources that perish. If you move a human, you change the whole community.
I have encountered wonderful people who are supporting my initiative and great things are to happen.
Tention Free : What inspires your creativity ?
Marcela Del Sol : I have trouble answering questions about inspiration. I think I have a need to express myself and writing is what helps me do it better. I believe creative people carry certain power within. I understand inspiration as something momentary.
What makes me write? A need to communicate and to share what I think I do best.
Tention Free : Tell us about your book?
Marcela Del Sol : Kaleidoscope is a fictional story loosely based on real events and my experience with PTSD/Dissociative Identity Disorder. It is the story of a powerful woman and her alters and the complications that exist because of these circumstances.
Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work?
Marcela Del Sol : The belief that I can perhaps create a positive change that leads to a more cooperative world, a world free of stigma, ignorance and prejudice: A world of vision.
Tention Free : How can people find you and follow you online?
Marcela Del Sol : I welcome everyone to come join me on Twitter

Tention Free : If you weren’t a writer , what would you be doing?
Marcela Del Sol : I would probably be traveling the world trying to make a difference but I would definitely have a pen and paper with me! I believe in the power of one, I know we all have the capability to make changed in the community. Social activism and arts are where my passion gets ignited.
Tention Free : What are your plans & hopes for the future ?
Marcela Del Sol : To be a good human being. To contribute to a world where my children live in harmony and justice and to keep writing and traveling the world.
Thank you for your time!
