We recently interviewed Maddie, a songwriter/composer that lives in Sweden and enjoys writing songs on the guitar, ukulele, keyboard, or  whatever weird instruments she finds in the attic . There will be a instrumental Album (Anxiously Awaiting) and one Acoustic album (Black fallen Angel) release during 2017. Her focus is folklore and storytelling and she likes to experiment with voices and make the guitar sound weird.

Tention Free : Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education etc. ??

I live in Sweden and currently study songwriting but also working at the vocational university With students With special needs. I live outside of Stockholm and I am active also within improvisation theater and storytelling communities. I like  writing songs on the guitar, ukulele and keyboard and its important for me that I tell something With My writings. I want the listener to be taken to a place when he/she heard me and I believe that the the instrumental part is a story in itself.

Tention Free : We been hearing a lot about you, so we notice your starting to gain a lot of attention how does it feel?

Thanks. If feels great and it poems a lot of Interesting contact and collab areas which I find awesome since Collab is the most fun and inspiring part in this business.

Tention Free : Please tell us more about ” After I had you “?

Yeah, Well its about that person ‘ who everybody knows’ that can’t have a relationship other than bodily. And that people don’t really always admit that they want to be becourse or lies some sort of tabu when we refuse “normal” happily-ever-after relationships and admit that we actually Love just to have sex. This was also the first song I wrote in English (Ive only written in Swedish before) and I put it to rest almost two years before I reworked it and had GaryNtheVilla performing it.

Tention Free : What motivates you to do your best work as a songwriter/composer ?

The challenge that it is to bring someone from his/her daily Life to a place and make them feel that place in only 2-3minutes. I’m a bit competitive and its a good challenge for my brain to compose like that.

Tention Free : Who are your musical inspirations?

Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen. Love the voices and characters they create. Absolutely outstanding.

Tention Free : Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a professional songwriter/composer ?

Stop With the waiting and start working for it! Things does not just happened to you, you have to work.

Tention Free : What are your future plans ? Your vision for the coming years.

I wan’t to work more intence With whole albums for artist and expand My mixing/producing experiences together With other artists and producers.

Tention Free : If you could perform anywhere, in the world, where would it have to be?

I like to be behind the artist so anywhere but With great performers.
