Mesmar was obsessed with music from an early age, and by 14, he had picked up the sticks and began teaching himself the drums. His passion shined through his playing style, and he eventually progressed to learning more about music theory and branched out into the digital side of music. Mesmar became enthusiastic about creating instrumentals, and this led him to venture into becoming a DJ/Producer in 2013 before taking it more seriously the following year.
Mesmar would soon begin a career in the field after winning a Beatport contest with a remix of Josh Wink’s track “Balls”. He then collaborated on numerous tracks with the likes of Eric Sneo, and Ramiro Lopez, among others, and inked record deals with Toolroom Records, Ovum Recordings, and GreatStuff Recordings.
In 2015, Mesmar was ranked among the top 300 best-selling techno artists as he played sets at premiere nightclubs in Montreal, including Circus Afterhours, Velvet, and Salon Daome. Both DJ Mag and Vice have interviewed him over the years to discuss his rise through the industry. Mesmar has shared the decks with Oliver Huntemann, UMEK, Pig&Dan, and Sasha Carassi, among others.
Mesmar would then remix the song“ Automatica,” and it garnered a considerable number of streams on YouTube. The remix would earn Mesmar worldwide recognition, which would culminate in his latest record deal with Sony Music Entertainment. Under Minds of Sin Records, he began touring different continents performing at sold-out venues and events worldwide. Along the way, Mesmar gained a growing fan base that appreciated his dedication to the craft and his takes on the Techno genre.
Never one to rest on his laurels, Mesmar is looking to the future and spends long hours in the studio in pursuit of the next big hit. He is a diligent student of the game and an avid experimenter on the turntables. Mesmar is also a noted content producer, owning his own label and putting out the podcast Minds of Sin on several streaming platforms.

Tention Free: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, passion etc. ??
I am a Canadian Underground DJ & Music Producer who has toured throughout the world doing shows in dozens of countries, including France, Italy, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States, among others. In terms of Education, I’ve always been that one person who rotates from one major to another, struggling to find something interesting for me to pursue, until i fell into the music scene. At that time, i was doing real estate courses & music.
I love sports! Gym, Basketball, & Tennis are sports that i can’t stay away from. They have to fit into my schedule otherwise it feels like there’s something missing.
Tention Free: Can you please tell us more about ‘Minds of Sin Podcast’?
It all started when i was recording mixes at home, then i decided to step it up, and asked artists to make a mix for me. The mix would air all over Canada, & the states! Getting featured on many FM Radios.
Tention Free: What are your future plans with your Label Minds Of Sin?
My plans are to work on showcasing the label all around Europe, North America, & South America. It’s Go big or go home kind of situation. Also, we’re planning ADE 2020, stay tuned on our Instagram page :slightly_smiling_face:
Tention Free: Did you choose this industry, as a career, or as a hobby?
Well, It all started as a hobby. I wasn’t really intending to go all out & make it as my full time job. It all started when I was picked as one of the late winners of the Beatport contest hosted by Josh Wink and his label Ovum Recordings.
I woke up the day of the winners announcement, I opened my Mac and rushed to the Beatport Contest page to see who was announced as the winner (They picked 2 winners at that time). I wasn’t one of the few one’s that got picked, I was annoyed and Sad. Then, few days later, Beatport emailed me stating that Josh Wink wants to release my Remix along side with the winners. The happiness I had during that day, It’s like seeing a kid with mountain of candy around him.
Tention Free: Your favorite music Artist?
Ouf! So many! But just to name one… You cannot go wrong with Carl Cox, a humble man with talent. People just love his music & his live sets. He’s deeply loved!
Tention Free: What’s your goal in life you want to achieve next as an Underground DJ?
So many goals! One of them, is to be signed on my favourite labels, Drumcode, Intec, Suara. Another one is to tour the world continuously.
