After talking to Allen Clark we had the cast and crew of Underground Episodes near by and we had to interview them. With a cast of 16 we got the chance to catch up with a few of them to see how they felt about life, the experience working in UE and seeing what the future holds for many of them.

Tention Free : Let’s talk a bit about your work and what is the secret behind your success?
Answer :
Marc : the secret behind my success is God and my support team.
Vince : he’s right and just when you think you got it, dig deeper and study harder.
Tasha : me to meet the right people and I’m working hard to improve as an actress.
Hendi : I dig into my emotions and I bring fourth a lot of passion.
Alysha : the love for what you do and dedication matters and I love going to auditions and rehearsals. Everything is a learning experience. I love learning new things about my passion to act.
Carolyn : Everything I do must have a purpose, the secret to expressing my art is that I’m not trying to be successful; I just become someone that is chosen to change the atmosphere. I am still searching for the peak of act..still humble as I’m developing, growing,& trying to understand the art. Confident but “humblogy”is my currency. I’m always striven to do better.
Tention Free : What are you working on now?
Answer :
Marc : was saying working on TV shows and movies and more auditions.
For Vince it somewhat similar Two webseries, a local gospel play and of course UE. I’m going wherever this production takes me.
Tasha : I’m in a film called Emergency Landing and another called Peacemakers.
Hendi : A collaboration with Allen called Boomerang. A short film that I wrote called Caught up. A poetic play called Organic Letters and taking class with acting coach Melvin Williams.
Alysha : I just finished a play called “My sister’s Keeper” by Jody Austin. I’m also in a short film called “A father’s Sorrow” and a web series called “Forsaken Issue’s”. Just remember the name.
Racquel : yes we are both in MSK and UE and doing “A Fathers Sorrow” where I play a mother who kills her children.
Carolyn : in addition to Underground Episodes is the poetic play “My Sisters Keeper”, two short film series; “Jupiter Rose” and “Family Jones” and “A Fathers Sorrow”.
Nichole : various stage plays, 3 short films, a talk show, as well as poetic theatre w/UE &MSK.
Tention Free : What inspires your creativity ?
Answer :
Vince : I’m always been inspired by other actors, sketch comedies and soaps. Real life also inspires my creativity. People like my characters really exist in the world.
Marc : My creativity is inspired by the day…
Tasha : through my experiences in my life and with other people. I continue to grow as a person and so does my creativity.
Hendi : to be honest real life experiences of myself and others, then different songs brings out the actual writing process.
Alysha : my surroundings and friends and of course my family. They are all very supportive of me and my craft.
Carolyn my creativity is inspired by LOVE…for people, life and changing lives for the better.
Nichole my story,my stress & love of being Social Work-Therapist..human journeys & stories, lead me to act in on stage & fun/intense rehearsals.
Tention Free : Who are your inspirations ?
Answer :
Vince : My family inspires me. Their faith in me and support allows me to
press forward when it seems like this business is going nowhere for me.
Tasha : inspire me,Tiona Brown, amazing author & director, & Allen Clark, their creativity and strength and boldness inspire me. Definitely inspired by my mother & my son.
Hendi : not who, but writers in general. that tap into emotions and passion, and have you on the edge of your seat with the unexpected, that inspires me.
Racquel : I am inspired by people that take the time to give a like a comment a hello a text an email a phone call just to say your doing a great job, thanks family.
Alysha : My mom. Angela Bassett and Taraji P. Henson.
Carolyn : I have been blessed to be taught by amazing directors Rhonda Payne, Jody Austin, Tiffany Dean and Allen Clark who have shown me the way to becoming the best I can be.
Nichole : Bethel Bates,creator of Garden of Eden,Higher Power,Pearl Bailey, Lucille Balle,Barbara Streistand, Diana Carroll,all my past & current cast mates’ talent,myself,my story.
Tention Free : What are your plans & hopes for the future ?
Answer :
Marc : My for the future are to set up a agency based out of Delaware where I reside.
Vince : I just hope to live long and inspire a shy fat kid from the hood like me to be an actor.
Tasha : that’s easy to be financially where I can live off of acting and modeling being my full time job. I would love that.
Hendi : to have my work heard and seen globally, and also provide the outlet for upcoming artist to showcase their talents and skill.
Alysha : to be a full time artist, need I say more.
Carolyn : I’m not seeking fame or fortune, but if it comes, it will be the gravy that I dip my biscuit of living my life with a Purpose.
Tention Free : Do you set goals for more plays and how do you do that?
Answer :
Marc : says he doesn’t look at theater to be his only focus but the arts is his passion so this fuels the fire so he can do more, network more and find different plays to be part of as well.
For Vince UE helped him re-discover his love for stage. I just pray about it and go for as many opportunities as I can.
Tasha : I love plays, they’re special and require a lot of energy & time so I pace myself. Definitely look for more in plays but I have to consider what else I’m trying to get involved in.
Hendi : I set goals by giving my word to people in telling them what I’m about to do and by when I will do it, and then just keeping my word.
Alysha : my goals for plays is to make the most out of any role, no matter how big.
Tention Free : What made you decide to do this project?
Answer :
Marc : saw this as a challenge to convert poetry into an acting world so I took on the challenge to see how I would do…
Vince Says : it was the title that caught his attention, the plot and I really never absorbed a script the way I did this one.
Tasha : Initially, I didn’t know what to expect. I auditioned and didn’t know if I would hear back. When I read the script, I could not see myself NOT being in the production.
Hendi : call me arrogant but I walked in and got it (shrug).
Alysha : playing a lesbian that’s happily married was completely not something I was expecting. But that was the challenge, that’s why I did it. And I love it.
Racquel : me too and she actually has soft kissing lips.
Carolyn : my mentor Jody Austin told me that she saw my gift and that she wanted me to express it….and she encouraged me to audition for “Underground Episodes” (UE) and as it is said, the rest is History.
Nichole : the role of a Latin mom looking for her child…when i was looking for my bio mom that brought the connection.
Tention Free : How you feel about run boy run production of underground episodes?
Answer :
Marc : I love run Boy Run simply because they pushe you in not only what he wants you to do but he pushes you in the right direction of a well rounded actor and supports all your dreams goals and keeps your best interest at heart.
Vince : Run Boy Prod. is now in my blood-like family. Its like I found 15 new cousins. It never feels like work and the experience I’ve gained is priceless.
Tasha : Underground episodes is unlike anything else I’ve ever done. It’s genius. Its real live art. Its beautiful. I am in awe of Allen’s mind for creating something so deep.
Hendi : Runboyrunproduction is a brand that fuses poetry and acting together and as a poet to see the evolution of poetry in this direction moves me.
Alysha : the whole team is amazing. They have all become family. We talk and hang out like brothers and sisters do. I am forever grateful.
Carolyn : I am looking forward to continuing with my UE family and allowing my character to evolve and grow as as well as any future opportunities Run Boy Run may have to offer me…

Answer :
Vince : Equity, Zeros, web series Charity, and stage play One Touch from the Master.
Tasha : I plan on working on few shows and more films, possibly throw a few more plays in there.
Hendi : Look for me in more productions, and look out for “Boomerang” “Caught up”, “Organic Letters”, “Tough Love” just to mention a few for now.
Alysha : I will be a Touring with ”Underground Episodes”and “My Sister’s Keeper” but I will continue to audition and stay busy so make sure you tune in.
Carolyn : I must say that the “bug” has bitten me….and well….I love being an Actress…but to me it’s not “acting” out a part it is the blessing in “becoming” the individual.
Nichole : a self-created role as a female veteran for play , a role in a comedy series, creating/editing my monologue, creating a stage play (like every1 else, it’s contagious), and being sexy.
